History

Margret Böck and Dr. Hanno Wachernig
Particle Metrix was founded in 2004 by the chemist Margret Böck and physicist Dr. Hanno Wachernig in Meerbusch near Dusseldorf. They both have many years of experience in the analysis of various micro- and nanoparticles. During the first two years, the company focused on counseling work for the particle characterization business. In 2006, Particle Metrix started developing its own nanoparticle analyzers. Today, Particle Metrix’s know-how comprises the development, production and sale of particle analysis devices using nanoparticle tracking technology. The company headquarter is nowadays located in Inning am Ammersee at the gates of Munich, and in addition to the administration and development department, also includes production as well as the service and support center. An experienced team of electrical engineers, chemists, biologists and physicists is available to the customer to competently answer all possible questions.

ZetaView®

The ZetaView® is installed in the best laboratories in the world and is enjoying a growing popularity. This is largely due to our employees and distributors, who keep their eyes and ears open in order to meet the customers’ wishes. Through collaborations with research institutes, Particle Metrix is increasingly working on new applications. They are our future. The standardization of processes and analyzes will also progress rapidly over the next years. A robust design and partial automation contributes to the safe and yet fast analysis. Demand for GMP, IQ/OQ/PQ and CFR 21 Part 11 continues to increase. The measurement principle complies with the following standards: ISO 13099 – Electrophoresis, ISO 19430: 2016 (E) – PTA Particle Tracking Analysis and ASTM-E 2834-12 – NTA Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis.

Quality Management

ISO 9001:2015 – Quality management system Effective quality management systems are characterized by clear corporate strategies and objectives, efficient and transparent processes, measurable results and continuous improvement. They increase customer satisfaction, create clear responsibilities, motivate employees, reduce costs through error prevention, improve competitiveness, reduce risks and improve image. Applications

Use of Fluorescence Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis as a tool for quality assessment of EVs

Correct and standardized storage conditions of extracellular vesicles (EVs) are essential prerequisites for the stability of clinical samples and the production of consistent EV batches for therapeutic use.
The loss of EV concentration due to improper storage conditions is associated with a reduced activity and physical integrity.
Check out our new app note on the importance of EV storage conditions and how fluorescence nanoparticle tracking analysis can be used as a quality assessment tool.
